This year’s Arbor Day celebration theme is Forest Families focusing on the wildlife that live in the Forest. The Nebraska Game and Parks is providing educational trunks on Nebraska Mammals and Birds as well as 40 pairs of binoculars for the event. Meet at the Visitors Center at 9:30 am. Local elementary school children from the area along with the general public are invited. Free seedling trees to all who attend.
9:30 a.m. – Meet at Visitor’s Center
10 a.m. – Explore Forest Families
11:30 a.m. – Bessey Nursery Tour and Tree Planting

What are they like?
Educational trunks are provided by the Nebraska Game and Parks for hands-on discovery of mammals and birds of Nebraska.
The Mammals Trunk includes furs, skulls, scat, track replicas and scat.
The Birds Trunk includes skulls, wings, eggs, and track replicas.
